Topic: "Moving Refrigerated Products from the West Coast to NY State by Rail"

Earlier this year, TRAINS magazine published an interesting article which chronicled the logistical journey of California produce and wine and produce from the Pacific Northwest by rail to a distribution center in upstate New York in five days. The author, renowned rail consultant Roy Blanchard, will describe the challenges of moving perishable freight products all the way across the country in a timely, economical manner via the "Produce Railexpress" train service. Paul Esposito will explain what prompted this service to be introduced and how it meets the supply chain needs of his Northeast customers. Both speakers will provide a photographic presentation documenting the long, but swift, journey by rail.
