Transportation Research Forum Newsletter (2007, No. 1)

TRF's 48th Annual Forum — by Tony Pagano

The TRF Annual Forum will be hosted by the Center for Transportation Studies at Boston University March 15-17, 2007. One of the primary goals is to bring together academics, practitioners, and policy makers in the transportation field irrespective of their basic discipline. The forum is about the interchange and discussion of ideas and knowledge in a subject area that increasingly transcends traditional intellectual boundaries. It is this broader perspective that makes the Forum distinct.

Boston is a particularly attractive location for the Forum, not only because it is the home for many of the world's leading university transportation research centers and institutes, as well as the base for a large number of major transportation consulting companies and federal research agencies, but it also has its own unique transportation challenges to contend with – not least of which has been the Big Dig. Thus, there is ample opportunity to combine the meeting with other activities in the region.
